A big event is coming to the pet industry in Hunan. The first central China (Hunan) pet culture festival of 2019, sponsored by Hunan animal husbandry and veterinary society and college of veterinary medicine of Hunan agricultural university, kicked off in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan province, May 25, 2019.
The two-day cultural festival is one of the science and technology promotion activities carried out by the Hunan institute of animal husbandry and veterinary science to promote the 2019 Hunan science and technology activity week. The cultural festival will carry out a series of activities, such as a job fair for animal husbandry and veterinary professionals, a fashion show for pets, a summit forum for pets and human health, and launch the training and promotion project for animal husbandry and veterinary medical talents of Hunan animal husbandry and veterinary society.
In order to enhance the responsibility and obligation of pet consumers, learn how to raise pets in a civilized and healthy way, reasonably protect public health safety, do no harm to others, and improve the general public's understanding of pets, the cultural festival will carry out activities such as raising dogs in schools and communities, raising pets for public good publicity, and providing free treatment for small animals.
With the development of social economy and the acceleration of urbanization, keeping pets has become a pastime for many families. In recent years, the pet industry in Hunan is booming. It is estimated that there are more than 10,000 employees in the pet industry in the province, and more than 1,100 pet shops and institutions, with an annual turnover of RMB 2 billion.There are more than 200 licensed urban animal clinics in the province, with more than 600 practicing veterinarians and more than 3,000 management and treatment staff engaged in pet diagnosis and treatment.
In view of the current problems in the pet industry, such as the serious lack of professional backbone talents, irregular pet hospitals and low quality of pet keeping, the college of veterinary medicine of Hunan agricultural university will adopt a Multi-level and all-round approach to cultivate talents in various pet industries. To strengthen the theoretical education and practical practice for students, to provide a variety of flexible training courses, professional skills training and certification training for on-the-job and social personnel, to provide new ideas for the development of the industry, strong backup support, a steady stream of "new blood".
